Artist History capturing the essence of a human being is simple when one is as expressive, knowledgeable, and talented as cbabi bayoc. through the use of oil, pastel and pencil, cbabi has established a style that is extraordinary and easily recognizable. some label his technique as "caricaturish" because he is able to exaggerate aspects of one's face; playing on eyes, lips, hands fingers, and legs, thus creating a finished product that speaks volumes to its admirers. His artwork captures souls - on canvas and off.upon entering belleville area college in belleville, illinois, bayoc gravitated toward the art department. it was there that he first secured his interest in art. two years later, he entered grambling state university in grambling, louisiana, and secured his love of art. after graduating from grambling in 1995 with a ba in liberal arts, cbabi pierced the world with the sharpness of his method.becoming a full-time artist fresh out of college was met with many obstacles, but with time cbabi had shows in st. louis, missouri, where he resides, and in dallas, texas and atlanta, georgia. with added exposure from venues such as the funk jazz kafe and magazines such as upscale, vibe, essence and rap pages, cbabi's clientele list has grown to include the artist formerly known as prince, erykah badu, coca cola usa, island-def jam 4one1, planet hip hop and many others.cbabi bayoc's name, which is an acronym for creative black artist battling ignorance and blessed african youth of creativity, allows others to realize his mission in life. through his artwork, he is able to show the beauty in black faces to all faces.
