Artist History
Ashpool is a San Francisco-based power trio that has been mining a unique instrumental vein of rock for over 8 years now. The band's sound combines melodically soaring compositions with an ability and willingness to stretch out into pure improvisational space at any time.
A debut EP, "Subtitles In Stereo" was recorded in 2001 with Billy Anderson (Mr. Bungle, The Melvins) at the helm. With regular shows at Bay Area clubs such as The Paradise Lounge, Pete's 881, and the Stork Club, the band has also performed at festivals such as ProgWest and Progressive Projections. Known for their explosive live shows, a live CD taken from a particularly ferocious recent set is in the works.
Patrick's hypnotic guitar, Klik's fluid bass, and Xochi's frenetic prog/punk drumming form the unique and ever expanding signature sound that can only be described as "Ashpool". |

Press Reviews
"Ashpool's g/b/d instrumental attack is centered around seven-string guitarist Patrick who unleashes a raw post-punk meets 80's Crimsoid dissonance blended with elements of jazz and free-metal"
