Artist description
The Touch Gallery was composed of several diverse musical tastes, ranging from the cheezy pop styles of early Madonna to the dark tones of Echo and Peter Murphy. These influences resulted in a mix of upbeat dance tracks and dark, emotional ballads. |

Artist History
The latest incarnation of the Touch Gallery was formed in 1987 in Austin, Texas. A Sixth Street favorite for several years, the band began playing original shows in the early nineties. The Touch Gallery opened for Information Society in Austin in 1990, and opened for Butthole Surfers at SXSW in 1991. The band had its introduction to the crazy world of record production, late in 1990, teaming up with Kim Fowley and Carson Wheeler. An unsuccessful bid for a record contract, and the need for paying jobs sounded the death knell for the Touch Gallery in 1994. Lance Kinney went on to perform and songwrite for several bands in Austin. John Tipton and Brian O'Halloran formed Drowning Man and recorded several tracks for their soon-to-be released EP. John also joined Origin Systems to compose scores for games in 1993, and is the Director of Audio Development for Blue Dot in Austin, Texas. |
