Artist description
SULTRY HARMONIES and melodic guitar capture the senses upon listening to Seattle’s best kept secret, Slugger. Spawned from the NW’s tight-knit music community, these four industry wise musicians have come together and given birth to their own style of Rock ‘n’ Roll pop. Influenced by the likes of the Go Go’s, Fleetwood Mac and the Clash, Slugger hits you with a one-two punch that takes you by surprise. Tight guitar riffs and a driving rhythm section instantly demand your attention. The knock out comes when female vocalists Trish Shallest, Hayley Tapp and Jen Heublein belt out their catchy lyrics and silvery harmonies that emulate the Wilson sisters and Veruca Salt. |

Artist History
Slugger played their second show in March of '97 to a sold out crowd at the Sit
'n Spin in Seattle, WA. Since then, Slugger has continued to develop a
following throughout the northwest and has had tracks from "Back to our Roots"
played on many local northwest radio stations, including KNDD (the End), KISW, KCMU, The
Mountain and C-89.
Slugger has recently completed their newly recorded EP entitled "On the Fly." "On the Fly" was recorded at Stone Gossard’s Litho Studios and mixed by Mike Foss at Stepping Stone. Round 2 of the Slugger collection will be released on Swizzle Recordings and could be the recording that launches a nationwide frenzy for this local favorite. |

From MTV Online:
SLUGGER: The New Knockout from
Seattle
A new contender, SLUGGER, has entered the ring
of the Seattle music world. Made up of Trish
Shallest, Hayley Tapp, Jen Heublein, and Dylan
Purchase, SLUGGER provides your ears with the
one-two punch of a vibe that rocks your cranium
and leaves you speechless. At their April 18 CD
release party at The Breakroom, SLUGGER proved
why they're one of Seattle's hottest up-and-coming
bands.
With their full sound and the lively performance of
their female vocalists, SLUGGER kept the crowd in
awe with songs that varied in tempo and sound.
Unlike some other bands, SLUGGER is able to
appeal to a large variety of musical tastes. They
proved this at their CD release party by blowing
the roof off The Breakroom.
Once you've gotten a taste of SLUGGER in your
system, consider yourself addicted. Be sure to get
your fix of the SLUGGER experience by checking
out one of their live shows.
