Artist description
Richard Maryon - Guitar, piano, arrangement and backing vocals.
Nigel Groves - Lead Vox, keyboards, programming.
Two English guys developing and recording strong,
story-centric alternative pop.
The verses are always mindful.
The choruses are always catchy.
And the music is always innovative.
Their songs are varied, no two are ever
the same, or even similar, but they are all
moulded by British culture and society.
Nigels intricate vocal styling and Richards
mastery of the guitar underpin their entire
repetoire. Many songs have contributions from
other great musicians such as pianist Michael Auld and
Saxophonist Claire Roberts. |

Artist History
Richard and Nigel formed "Charm" in 1996.
At the time this was more of an experimental
project than a band, but they both soon realised
that their creative talents complemented one another
and indeed the whole was far more than the sum of the parts.
Their creativity seemed endless and unstoppable.
Their first Album "Gazebo" was released late in '97
to much critical acclaim. The track "Washing Machines"
was particularly popular,
to the surprise of both Nigel and Richard. It seemed
the mellow guitar picks and cutting lyrics
touched the hearts of listeners across the globe.
In early 1999 they released their second album "Farther Ahead"
under the new band name of "Pyjama Charm".
The title was a play on words, it described
how the band had moved on from the first album,
but also at the time both Nigel and Richard were soon-to-be dads.
NEWS: The new album "10 Stories Hi!" is finished! Should be available for download and purchase soon. |
