Artist History Mickey has been writing songs for a number of years . Usually solo guitar under a shade tree outside. All through his life processes( service, and college) he has been arranging and writing original material. Music has always been in his family, since the name Scruggs came from Scottland and Ireland to the Appalechian Mnts. of VA. His grandfather's brothers and were both professionals Dr,R. Scruggs, a great trumpeter and band directer for the local Mason group. William his brother was a lawyer and violinist in the DR's group. Their sister Ethel Scruggs " Clark" tought piano and played for the local church and was director of their chior. Music seems to surge through the veins of this family.. Everyone liked the banjo and guitar..like all the other relatives mickey is upholding the tradition of sound beautification and art!!!!
