    Artist description
Very heavy 2-man out of CT.....4/18/2000- Hello fellow Metalheads its been a while since Ive updated(personal shit ya know)But I was back in the studio this past weekend laying more vocal trax and while things keep getting pushed back, I promise this shit is gonna make you stop and wonder "What the fuck is wrong with these guys"..Don sent me pics of him in his Army garb, friggin hilarious, he looks like a broad shouldered monster now, thats killer. As for Neural Imbalance's plans for 2000, our new albums release is immenent, it just depends on your definition of the word. Id like to take the time to thank all of you for being very supportive with your killer reviews and countless kind words....We hope to actually play some of these festivals we keep getting invited to be a part of. Due to Don being enlisted and myself co-owning a biz, it is so tough to get free time, our recording schedule is ridiculous enough, but we will do something , I promise....Hail E

    Artist History
Neural Imbalance combines elements of modern and traditional thrash, death metal, industrial, and power electronics to create a unique, often futuristic form of extreme art. Based in Danbury, CT, the project began as Scourge in the Fall of 1994. Vocalist Eric Stanzione and bassist Fran St. Jean joined forces with guitarist Don Smith after Don found their ad on a music store bulletin board. All three were experienced musicians and veterans of various underground metal bands. Immediately the band set to work creating a modern thrash/hardcore hybrid. Several drummers were unsuccessfully tried out, leading to the band's decision to utilize a drum machine. Scourge recorded a demo in 1995, which was a completely "do-it-yourself" project, with engineering and production all occurring at home. This demo recieved favorable reviews worldwide. In the Summer of 1995 Fran St. Jean split amicably with Scourge. Eric and Don decided to continue on as a 2-man project, renamed Neural Imbalance...with a new drum machine and a more chaotic and violent sound. Quickly Neural developed a base of material, and entered Oxford Circus Studios in Hamden, CT in January of 1996, to record a 5-song demo entitled "Vitriol". The internet has proven to be a valuable asset to the band, as "Vitriol" can be heard and downloaded at their page on MP3.com. Due to the restrictions of being a 2-man project, live shows have been limited in number, with the focus on writing and recording. Neural Imbalance is currently preparing to again enter the studio, with new material that is even more chaotic and brutal than previous efforts. Eric and Don appreciate correspondence from anyone interested in the project

    Press Reviews
an extremely aggressive mix of distorted vocals, guitars and electronics characterizes vitriol, in the vein of fear factory. it's like a brutal slap in the face after listening to the techno bands we normally hear. cool. juggernaut of fury is about as heavy as a band can get without exploding. the grind core style drums are upfront and well done. combined with some semblance of actual style and good arrangement, this violent music is entirely appealing, especially if you like to slam your fists through the walls every now and then. disgust, a rant on child abusers, rushes out the listener in much the same hostile metal style with some very nasty lyrics. what's appealing about neural imbalance is that they don't take that boring route that so many metal bands fall prey to with grunting vocals and standard musical scales. that's tedious after a few songs. this band has song writing talent and combined with the electronics/industrial overtones, they take hardcore/metal to a new arena which is ultimately more interesting than thrash. May 99' Edition of Raw42 E-zine (Thanx Alex)..................From MidnightMetal.com.......Vitriol 1: (H2SO4) a highly corrosive acid made from sulphur dioxide 2: the expression of bitter deep-seated ill will 3: title of album by the brutal industrial-thrash band Neural Imbalance. The above definitions are all correct in describing Neural Imbalance and their 5-track demo, "Vitriol." Each track contains an acrid dose of industrial style drumbeats and effects while Eric Stanzione heads up the vocal department, which is quite simply, amazing. The vocal angst, aggression and power behind this two-man unit are something to marvel. We can only wait and see what this diverse and powerful group comes up with next and you can bet Midnight Metal will have the latest scoop.
