Artist History
mindFluxFuneral was originally formed in 2.93, as the band virus.Anthony Smith and Jason Prost came together to create the first infection that spring. By early the next year mindFluxFuneral had assembled their first demonstration of their creativity. The revenant ep took four months to produce, held six tracks covering many of their stylistic differences, and displayed the artwork of artist tom nawara.During the spring of .94 a small record company out of Florida recieved a package that contained the revenant ep. After listening to the material, Pound Records approached mindFluxFuneral about re-releasing their songs on CD for the public. Through this joint venture sprung forth countless random impacts, compiling the work of mindFluxFuneral with Prost and Smiths other incarnations, drone and Hex_80.Later that fall mindFluxFuneral entered three of their compositions into the R.M.I. Mind/Body 2 CD project, to be considered amongst 30 other bands. Flesh was selected to appear on the Body section, which was released 1.95. For the next three years the two took some time away from the harsh sound of mindFluxFuneral to work on various projects, including Bowlfinger, Parallax shifT, Pulse Code. Not until late 1997 did mindFluxFuneral resurrect itself for public consumption. Discussions began with Jester, of Sonic-Boom fame, and his record company Doppler Effect Records. It was decided that if mindFluxFuneral could come up with the material that Doppler Effect Records would take care of the distribution. For the entire year of 1998 both Prost and Smith worked on reviving older material as well as developing new material using many of the new tricks and techniques discovered during their respit. Old tracks such as "hatred" and "dog meat god" were dusted off and given a complete overhaul. New tracks like "melting spirit" and "wine and dust" renforced the duo's place in the industry as one of the leaders in "agressive Electro-Industrial".On March 23rd 1999 Doppler Effect Records released the first full length, commerical release from mindFluxFuneral, entitled BirthMark".futuremindFluxFuneral is currently working on putting together a re-mix album of the original tracks that appeared on "countless random impacts". The disc will feature re-mixes from other creative artsts, as well as additional new tracks from the duo themselves.MFF is currently constructing a Midwest tour, for booking info please contact New Underground Media Factory @ info@num.comThus it goes.... |
