Artist description
LeRoy's Praise Band is a recording project produced by Allen Gibson. Songs are originals-- although LeRoy likes to cover tunes, he doesn't like to pay mechanicals, if you know what I mean.
Basically a good time band, doing music that speaks about living a faith in the real world. |
 |
Music Style
Contemporary Christian, with pop/rock feel |
 |
Musical Influences
Not many in the C.C. genre-- love bands like Chicago, Rippingtons, Bonnie Raitt, Lisa Loeb, Niacin, Del Amitri, Brave New World, Bruce Hornsby |

Similar Artists
I've been told I sound a bit like Burton Cummins, vocally speaking-- do with that what you will. |

Artist History
'way back when, LeRoy worked in a bar band in the Cincinnati area. He disappeared for a few years, and rumors abounded that he had lost his soulful approach to music.
Not true-- LeRoy found his soul, and then his music became truly soul-full. With a recording deck, some beat-up gear, favorite old instruments, and the burden of a day job, LeRoy began to make music again in the early 1990's.
First, LeRoy made his music just for his own soul's sake. But people heard the tunes, grooved, and said "Give us more." LeRoy began making demo tapes for family and friends, and they got pretty popular.
LeRoy picked up some new friends to play live with, and playing live again sharpened LeRoy's hunger to be heard. With a few more tweaks of the old gear, and a steep new learning curve, LeRoy began to make MP3's.
And so, here we go-- MP3's of LeRoy's Praise Band, offered with the prayer folks will hear and like it-- and that LeRoy's Music can be heard far and wide by a whole new group of future LeRoy fans. |
