KATHARSIS, a purifying of emotions through art andmusical forms, is a band known for its intenseexpressions balancing between fast and heavyriffing to classical melodic harmonies. Katharsishas been deeply influenced and capitalisic on theacts before them; and the wide array of musicalstyles provied in todays tecnological world. As aresult the band attracts open-minded listenersfrom various genres including classical, tohardcore, to punk, in addition to its heavypopulous of heavy metal/thrash enthusiasts.Lyrically, the band explores things like history,astronomy, nature but it is interpreted from aninteresting perspective rather than typical bore. |

Artist History
The present Katharsis was formed about two yearsago with founding members Jared Rein and StevenOstrowski. Although the band is relatively new,each member has had extensive performing andsong-writing experience in previous acts. Fromthe very beginning, the band has been devoted toproducing melodic arrangements with heavy feel,and compiled nine songs to put on the debut albumPulverization Scheme. Each song becomes a musicalprogression, as songs currently in writing display.Performing in several local acts, and with CDsdistributed across the nation, Katharsis is anational level band pushing independently to gettheir music heard. |
