Artist History
CutTime Players was founded in 1995 by seven Detroit Symphony Orchestra musicians performing Stravinsky's dramatic masterpiece The Soldier's Tale and Peter and the Wolf. The instrumentation resembling a chamber orchestra offers many possibilities for symphonic transcriptions. Recent transcriptions of French Jazz pianist/composer Claude Bolling's popular crossover suites for flute and violin have enabled CutTime Players to step lightly into the world of jazz. Our first self-produced commercial CD will arrive next March featuring the Bolling works. |
