Artist description
"they make fast, throbbing, lost-in-the-woods music" (Alternative Press)"Repetitive programming and sparse sampling with a pop-dance beat"(Industrial Nation)"Bytet plumbs the electronic sphere to create a multi-layered cross-over sound all his own. Ranging from straight techno-dance with a moody gothic feel to virtual ambience coupled with early industrial clatter"(Jo Greene-The Rocket)"I have never heard anything quite like it...this music seems dark, heavy, electronic, industrial and a bit gothic all blended into the sound of First Bite. There are deep sinking repetitive synth drums, lots of electronic samples, and great vocals."(Last Sigh)"dark, cold and moody with dreary electro beats, haunting synths...tribal drum beats, malfunctioning electronics, melodic synth harmonies and chilling female vocals"(Wrapped In Wire) |

Artist History
B Y T E T was begun as a recording project in 1989 by RG Geiger. Inspired by his brother, RG set several of Timothy's poems to music. The "dark" nature of the prose is reflected in the music through a "Gothic" style. In the spring of 1992 BYTET began public performances as a one-man "Gothic/Techno" band, playing alternative bars, coffee houses and underage warehouses in Anchorage, Alaska. With the release of his first full length CD,"First Bite", Geiger teamed up with percussionist Kris Rosentrater. After about 18 months Kris left and Mike Miller came on keyboards. In 1996 Sommer Moselle replaced Mike adding a female Vox. 1997 Sommer sings on a scary remix of "Anything" which also featured Cliff (Parallax1) Livingston on guitar synth. 1998 releases "Mary Mary" and "Modern Ritual" teams Kris and RG up again with Sommer writing and singing the modern ritual. 1999 was the year BYTET left the physical world and enter the cyber realm spreading the music here at mp3.com and at two other on-line CD stores. One new song was released an instrumental version of "Doubting Angels" which appears on the KSM Compilation "Black Planet" and in the Italian Music magazine/CD DLK.From 2000-02 played with Cliff and Kara's band Parallax1.2002 remixed "It's Too Late" by the Canadian band Minefield. |

Press Reviews
"futuristicos, que o deixa "viajar" nas melodias que às vezes lembra um pouco Ministry" Fanzine AHHH! #5 (Brazil),"la similitude avecla voix de Play Dead est indéniable...de ballade électro - goth et romantico - amoureuse."Cinetik Zine (France),"far away from all trends that could easily make their music cliched. Let's say it's a hybrid of electro and gothic with some ambience." Crewzine #7(Slovakia)",A combination of drilling rhythms as well as analysis of the masterful and harsh motives, it is ready to lead the journey through strained robotic visions." Calmant #3(Lithuania),"Bytet are on their own personal trip, you can't really compare them to others- Ministry,Drown, Amon Hen, Nine Inch Nails, Devo... Chuck a bit of the mentioned bands and you'll be bloody close I spose" Kra'zine #5(New Zealand),"The rhythm and arrangements remind me of PRODIGY but layout is the personal view of R. Geiger, a very new genre of industrial." Kingdom Of Death Magazine #5(Poland) |
