Artist History
The Dubroom is founded in 1993 by Messian Dread. It was nothing more then a room filled with a computer, a mixing console and two cheap soundcards. The Soundblaster 1.0, to be precize. It was with this "equipment" that Messian Dread started to find out a way to create authentic dubwize with the computer. This was very hard, because the production process of music created with the help of computers is quite different then the more "old skool" equipment like an analogue tapemachine et cetera. In 1997 The Dubroom also got a site on the Internet. It was in the Dubroom, that Messian Dread presented his tracks in midi format. They can now be found on numerous other sites on the Internet. The Dubroom remains the key site for original reggae and dub in midi format, and also provides loops for people that want to "click their own dub" with the help of programms such as Music Maker and Acid. Nowadays the Dubroom also provides reviews of new CD's, interviews with well-known people in the movement of Rastafari and Reggae, and much more. What is happening in the Dubroom? First of all, Jah is being praised and Dub Music is being made. On this page you will find music that is mixed by Messian Dread. In the coming weeks and months you will find more tracks here. Every dub will be mixed by Messian Dread, but not neccesarily everything will be played by him as well. |
