Artist description
Jesus changed my life and took it in to a new dimension and gave a greater depth and meaning to everything I do. I am eternally thankful for this and wish to share with others these life giving words, thoughts and sentiments of the One who accomplished this. The material presented here carries no dogmatic sentiment and is free to be scrutinized by each and every listener. I encourage such investigation. Regarding the "Personal translation" aspect of this material: There may be some that disagree with this and prefer only the translation from the original Greek to the English of the 16th century. I can personally find no basis for this. Jesus did not speak the King's English. It has been widely accepted that Jesus spoke in the Aramaic language and that he spoke not to educated and sophisticated listeners but to the common and the marginalized, whores, thieves and the working people. The kings English was, for me, the major roadblock to my finally meeting Jesus. Archaic Shakespearean verbiage may be beautiful to many but in the context of presenting "living" timeless information I find no good reason to use the language of centuries past. It generally promotes a sense of condescension and superiority in many who refuse to meet the listener on his or her level. |
