    Press Reviews
"It might not be saying much that Feisty's "Night", as good as it is, was one of the highlights on the soundtrack to the Vancouver-shot Better Than Chocolate. But this six song CD, a follow-up to the band's first EP (titled, simply, EP), shows these 1998 Shindig! runners-up are a cut above the competition even when not knocking boots with the likes of the West End Girls... Singer Heidi Ernest provides the distinctive vocals that give Eat at Home most of its character; her voice anchors the dramatic, slow-burning "Found My Feet" and lends scorn to the CD's spunkiest track, "Big Life." Meanwhile, bandmates Andrew Pirie, Steve Oldenborger and Rob Walter provide a solid foundation of power-pop bounce and alternarock buzz for Ernest's vocal twists and turns. Eat at Home ends with the propulsive, forward-looking "Green"; it's an appropriately optimistic tune, considering the band sounds ready to make the leap from EPs to a full-length CD. -Shawn Conner, Georgia Straight
