Artist description
Cascabulho is one of the most creative and impressive bands that were formed in the 1990's in Recife, Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil. They are an important part of a broader cultural scene - the mangue beat movement - a youth culture movement that arose in Recife during the last decade. Cascabulho is rhythm, joy and creative use of local and global influences, producing original Brazilian music of high quality. Hunger gives you a headache, the band's first album is dedicated to the memory of the performer, composer and revolutionary musician Jackson do Pandeiro. |

Artist History
"We are not a rock band. Neither are we a 'forró' band. Much less a folk group. Our roots: they are in the mud of Pernambuco, which we are made of. Our influences: we are suburban guys from the periphery of Recife, fertilized by the industrial winds blowing all over the planet. - To tell the truth, we are crazy about music! We are the group Cascabulho!" José Manoel de Lemos Pereira |
