Artist History
" Toni Stone" whose real name is Tanya Richards burst onto the underground scene in 1997.Her unique thought provoking rap flow has seemed to transcend audiences of all kinds,Ston grew up in a rough section of north Philadelphia and attended Simon Gratz High School.It was her love of rap music that helped her servive the crime and poverty infested neighborhood aroud her.Her love for rap developed while watching older sister perform a local jam session in the park back in the early 80's.Stone was barely five years of age when she first witnedded her sister rock the crowd.This love of grew even stronger after her sisters passing back in 1994.It was then that Sone began to seriously pursue a career in rap music.Now at 23 Toni Stone spends most of her time performing and working on forth coming album entitled "DIAMOND ISIS".She has appeared alongside an array of artist from The Roots to acts like Major Figures, The Faculty, Common. Mos Def, and The Black Lilly's featuring Jaguar and Flo Brown. She has featured on Power99's "Inner City" Channel 49's "urban Expression", at Club Cafe Rocks, Now World Talent Serch, Pegasus Night Club, Brave New World. The Five Spot, and The Wetlands in New York. |
