Artist description
Swill is a band adamant about giving the over-stimulated public something different. Their mechanical music and unique live presentations have garnered them notoriety as Kansas City's wierdest band. Don't be surprised to see dildos, bombs, or spliff-smoking frogs at a SWiLL show. You should not be shocked by the sick sweet smell of SPAM cooking behind the drummer. These are part of any evening with SWiLL. Embracing technology, SWiLL employs the use of computers and sequencers to enhance the music they create. Fueled by over-exposure to television and other assorted media overkill, SWiLL's lyrics are honest and real. You will hear no songs about flowers, fresh little candies, or puppy dogs. Expect no sappy laments of love or the heartache of failed relationships. Who cares about this crap? SWiLL doesn't. |

Artist History
Spawned from disgust and contempt for the current state of the music business,SWiLL has set out to assassinate all pre-conceived ideas about what a rock band should be. Forget about hairspray. Forget about extended guitar solos and virtuosos. Forget about all the pathetic corporate boy bands. SWiLL is about none of the above. SWiLL is three guys from Kansas City who greatly appreciate the entertainment value of public humiliation...not theirs.....yours! |

Press Reviews
PITCH WEEKLY(Feb 17-23, 2000) "In it's 'Statement of Intent', Swill writes, "Forget about hairspray. Forget about extended guitar solos and virtuosos. Forget about Seattle..." The first two are welcome oversights, and as for the third, think same era, different bands. Elements of early Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails and mid-'90s Ministry and Megadeth surface on Lessons In Sarcasm, an album filled with monster riffs and speedy industrial drumbeats. Lyrically, Swill is unrepentantly brutal, with the frightening "Beatin' Up A Drunk Guy," and "Hunting Humans," the latest addition to the area's disturbingly large stash of pro-shooting-spree tunes. The group also offers an aray of vulgar samples, ala Electric Hellfire Club, to supplement it's own harsh sentiments. Although the overall vibe is heavy, songs such as "Barely Alive" and even "Hunting Humans" showcase the band's melodic side with catchy choruses. Swill is not for the faint of heart, but fans of other area heavyweights such as Thrust might find this album to be a tasty metallic meal. Andrew Miller |
