Artist description
Linda Allen's songs tell lyrical stories in the timeless tyle of the balladeer and the poet. Whether singing about relationships, the human spirit, social justice or events past or present, she pinpoints what is profound inside of the ordinary and sings it home. Linda sings with humor and compassion, using an uncommonly strong voice and intricate guitar accompaniment. Her ballads are born of the questions, insights and longings that thread their way through the human story. She's an experienced performer whose music is rooted in the folk tradition and honed by years of commitment to an art that both informs and transforms. |

Press Reviews
"The songs are compelling stories rendered into song by a master songwriter." Bob Franke ================================ "A true and delightful artist who poetically tells it all." Studs Terkel ================================ "Her performance brought us to our feet even as it brought tears to our eyes. See her. You won't regret it." Lois Reckitt, National NOW ================================ "In the best folk music tradition, Allen has unearthed the stories not found in the history books - stories of ordinary people, minorities, the disadvantaged and the victims of progress...vividly helping to define the region, these songs themselves are apt to become part of Washington's history." Sing Out! Magazine ================================ "..a lot of power and a lot of heart...songs that show courage in the choosing." |
