Artist description
El Maestro Agustin Eastwood-De Mello is the first North American Flamenco guitarist to have performed in major solo concerts. Among his concert appearances are solo performances at the New York Town Hall and the Santa Barbara Lobrero Theater. He has also performed at the Colorado Springs Broadmoor Theater with the Marlene Dietrich Show and at Carnegie Hall with Miles Davis. |

Artist History
In addition to being a concert Flamenco guitarist, Agustin (Austin) Eastwood-DeMello is also a poet, a professional writer, and martial arts master. A recognized haiku master, DeMello's poetry has appeared in Orphic Lute, Wind, Western Poetry, Florida Arts, Frogpond, Japanophile, El Coqui, and many other publications, too numerous to mention. He has taught creative writing and music at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Agustin's published books include "Black Night Poetry", "Tengu of Karate", & "The Magic Formula". Sensei DeMello opened the New York Oyama Kyokushinkai Karate Academy and has performed nationally televised demonstrations of "TAMESHIWARI" (brick-breaking techniques). |
