Indian chants are reminiscent of the Indi-Pop works of Sheila Chandra and Jai Uttal, & the pop sensibilities remind me of where Madonna has been headed (with William Orbit) on her Indian excursions, only they are even more fully realized. Each track is a spirited adventure that bridges the space between the worlds &emdash; mantras, ethnic instruments, dance rhythms, sampled sounds, inspired vocals, and truly multi-cultural artistry. Victor Ruiz created the Atman project with the intention of breaking the barriers of time and space in celebration of what is eternal in man.
