Artist History
The core lineup goes back to 1987, when we produced a tape recording under the name of FIJI and spontaneously disbanded. The band came out of a deep coma and revived in late 1998 as Y2K Project to strike a balance of what each of us had created for the long years of underground solo work, and to share our innovative thinking, musical and poetic ideas with a wider audience. In 1999 we produced our first CD "Gazin' Into The Abyss" - "He who fights monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche "Beyond Good and Evil", Ch. 4. aph. 146, p102. (1886) - Translation by R. J. Hollingdale. Y2K Project is designed to be more than just conceptual music and poetry, it's an elaborate and sophisticated brew - if anything world fusion, made of our emotions, feelings, sentiments, spirits, experiences, behaviors and attitudes towards our life and time at the border-line between the centuries and millennia. In a manner of speaking, we've been trying to solve the Y2K Problem, that resides deep in everybody's mind and heart, so come to see and stay tuned with us? Let's Jazz our life Up! |
