Artist description
Experience, perseverance and an unmistakable sound are the driving force behind the recent success of this newly emerged, German rock band. Since their inception in April 2000 they have already gained more credibility in the music industry than most bands triple their age. The growing success in their homeland of Germany was enough to attract the eyes of Victory Records as well as some of their marquee artists including: Snapcase, Grade and Boy Sets Fire.
Grade vocalist, Kyle Bishop, and bassist, Matt Jones, were the primary reason behind Victory signing Waterdown. Waterdown had the opportunity to open up for Grade on their short German tour in the summer of 2000. They were so impressed by their set that they immediately contacted Victory to tell them about this promising act. "They were so incredible they almost blew us off the stage each night," admitted Bishop.
Waterdown is an amalgamation of throaty harsh screaming and some of the most euphonic vocal melodies you will ever hear. Their music provides an uplifting underscore that moves you sonically and emotionally. These guys bring a refreshing and redefining sound to the hardcore music scene that keeps it vital and continually evolving.
Waterdown formed from the departure of four well established German bands including the metal legends, Caliban. The band's past experience has played a major role in developing them into the multi faceted musical geniuses they are today. Bored with playing only one style of music as they collectively had been doing int their previous bands, they decided to create something different. Waterdown have taken caustic vocalizations coupled with driving music and catchy singable choruses creating their own unmistakeable style. In the bands first few months together they were able to play with powerhouse bands such as Snapcase, Boy Sets Fire, Avail, Jimmy Eat World and Grade- not bad for a band that is less than a year old. |
