Artist description Serg van Gennip was born on April 15th, 1985 in Kazan, Russia. Until the age of 6 years, he lived in St. Petersburg and Kazan. Then he moved to Darmstadt, Germany. 3 Years later, he moved to Delft in the Netherlands, where he lives now. Serg started to play piano with the help of his mother, in Russia. In Germany, he stopped for quite some time. At the age of 10, he entered a conservatory. Now Serg studies at the Rotterdams Conservatorium. His Conservatory's piano teacher is Michael Davidson. Serg truly likes to take part at concerts and to play for the public. In the years of 1998 and 1999, he was on a National Dutch television show, "Solo voor een Kind" (Solo for a Child), where he was the 1st price winner. Wibi Soerjadi, a Dutch pianist, was the leader of the jury. This show was produced by RTL 4, Joop van den Ende TV Producties and Foster Parents Plan. At this moment, Serg has quite a busy time studying piano and of course the college. But he already has given a few recitals. For example, the Millennium Concert on January 2nd, 2000. Or his recital at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science: The OC&Win Zoetermeer, Netherlands. Serg also has a lot of hobbies. For example, he likes fishing in the weekends, to play billiards with his uncle or to do various things on the computer. One of his favourite and "beautiful" hobbies is painting landscapes or seascapes with oil-colors.
