Artist History
Welcome to the world that is "SCIENCE FRICTION". A musical place where surrealism and improvisational instrumentality collide. Often described as "A Soundtrack without Film", "SCIENCE FRICTION'S" haunting pieces insight visions of Progressive Rock, Fusion, and Electronic Space. In the winter of 1994, the duo formerly known as "COSMIC TESTICLES" was formed. The two decided to take their urges of music and create 1997's debut CD "SCIENCE FRICTION". This undertaking was done purely by improvisation. This unique blend was created by; STEVE SIERS A.K.A. QUAD and GEORGE MARTINDELL. Recorded digitally in two layers at QUAD PALACE STUDIO. The first being a jam on bass, synths, and drums. The second being a "Coloring" with the application of sound effects, percussion, and synths. Not content in sounding the same, the duo expanded with the introduction of electronic drums, extensive synthesizers, effects, and the addition of a guitarist. Having worked together previously, Martindell contacted FRANK SONSINI. An improvisational type of being himself, Sonsini fit right into the cosmic world that "SCIENCE FRICTION" creates. The follow up release "FREUDIAN SLIPS" is the first collaborative effort as a trio. The band is currently pursuing soundtrack opportunities in Film, Video, and Multi-Media. |
