Artist History
We formed in January 1998 with the dream of winning the upcoming Pitt Meadows Battle of the Bands. It seemed that as soon as we picked up our instruments for the first time, a storm of controversy surrounded us. There was a mooning incident in front of the school during our first public performance ever, that almost cost us our shot at the battle. With a member being suspended because of this, M.W. was banned, but an appeal was made and we were allowed back in to the Battle. After a shocking third place finish, it became blatantly clear that the powers that be had it in for us, right from the beginning. The following two years were spent touring excessively across the lower mainland, playing a total of six shows, including one special Wednesday evening at the infamous downtown punk club, the Columbia. Finally, in April 2000, the fans of M.W. got what they had been ranting about for two years, when the boys stepped into the recording studio for the first time. A few laughs and eight hours later, Morning Wood had completed what is now known as the famous 'Bar Hoe' E.P. bootleg. What is next for guitarist/vocalist Matt "Jackhammer" Garis, bassist/vocalist Jeff "Lightning Fingers" Krenzel, and drummer/AOV member Ben "Big Bopper" Mullin? Only time will tell. |
