Artist History
Kaleidoscope frontman Jos began his career with the Wolverhampton based indie/psychadelic band Drop, who achieved independent chart successes with the ‘Ambience’ and ‘Reflections’ Ep’s and the ‘Within and Beyond’ album released in 1991 on Chapter 22 Records. Combined with the high profile achieved with the nationwide tour with Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, numerous other supports including Hawkwind, and a solo tour, the band finally imploded under the weight of their own excesses in early 1992 and evaporated.4 years later Jos began a new project: Octarine, recruiting current bass player David Wylde whose instant understanding of his underlying concept and intentions meant the formation of a fundamental new songwriting partnership. The unmistakable vocal style and distinctive guitar work of Jos, and Davids’ remarkably articulate bass playing spearhead the new Kaleidoscope sound which is now richly supplemented by the fortuitous acquisition of Richard Henderson on drums, and Christopher Morris on Keyboards/backing vocals. These experienced and like minded musicians, instantly recognising the opportunity for mutual musical expansion, ensure that the band is perfectly suited to live work as well as contributing creatively. The band is currently combining songwriting/studio work with developing their profile on the live circuit. The local headline gigs have gone exceptionally well so far and the band is looking forward to expanding their fan base during forthcoming out of town gigs. |
