Artist description
An inspiring composer/producer who creates visionary journeys in music and sound to serve as gateways and bridges between here and the beyond for the purpose of healing and upliftment. These topographic soundspaces provide an environment for the listener to explore the inner subjective realms and to stimulate the imagination. They are good for creative visualisation, meditation, massage or just relaxing .......... All the albums were created using synthesisers and samplers with great care taken to develop and mix sounds that are interdimensional and ethereal in nature rather than mundane and terrestrial .......... Each of the original albums opens a doorway, a portal, and builds a pathway to explore and experience different levels of consciousness |

Artist History
Born in Sydney, Australia, JAPETUS played drums in the school band and began writing poetry in early teens. Despite being unable to read or write music, the poetry was always surrounded by a bed of celestial sounds, so he started working with keyboards and guitar in order to capture the music. These of course... were songs! .......... Around 1980, JAPETUS set-up a home recording studio and began writing and recording over 40 pop songs working towards a traditional recording contract. For many years he created jingles and corporate video soundtracks as well, before specialising in journey soundspaces .......... Between 1983 and 1997 he released 14 albums of his own New Age music and recorded many other albums for well known alternative musicians and therapists. Recently JAPETUS was commissioned to supply music for an international cable TV series called ‘Yin, Yang and You' .......... I hope you enjoy this first taste of the new JAPETUS Catalogue and the incredible convenience of mp3.com |

NATURE AND HEALTH MAGAZINE - "JAPETUS has recently emerged as one of Australia's leading New Age musicians. The music and sounds of JAPETUS are welcoming, sensitive, varied and colourful and - very accomplished." ........... SOUTHERN CROSSINGS MAGAZINE - "It is music unto itself, an emotional feeling, a cosmic mood...this is deep soul music." .......... CRYSTAL VISIONARY MAGAZINE - "Superbly suited to meditation and transcendental states of consciousness. " ..........
