    Artist History
Deprecated began killing heads as a four piece in late 1996 after the dissolution of Disgorge (one of California's most brutal bands). On bass, Derek Boyer was the newest addition to this grinding quartet. He had only been playing and performing with Disgorge for a few months and had far from fulfilled his desire to play brutal music. Derek began collaborating with drummer Torrey Moores. They aspired to the formation of a full band; anxious to hear chunking guitars and guttural vocals behind their new material.During Derek's brief tenure with Disgorge he made acquaintance to vocalist A.J. Magana. A.J.'s vocal stylings had the intensity and pronunciation they were looking for. The three then began contemplating a name. After much debate, Deprecated was decided. All Deprecated needed now were some guitars. A.J. introduced long-time friend Adam Hearst to the band. Adam joined the band. The unit immediately began composing the tracks on 'Deriding his Creation'. Eight months and five songs later Adam left the band to study music at G.I.T. (Guitar Institute of Technology) in Hollywood. In the spring of 1998 Deeds of Flesh presented Derek with the opportunity to tour with them as a stagehand and merchant. The remaining members of Deprecated saw this as an excellent opportunity to promote and distribute their upcoming debut MCD 'Deriding his Creation'. With time in little abundance and the assistance of ex-Disgorge guitarist John Remmen, the tracks were recorded June 10th & 11th at Moon Studios. In the summer of 98' Derek left for the six week American/Canadian tour. Two hundred CD's were sold throughout North America (1500 copies sold to date). While on tour, Jacoby Kingston, bassist and backing vocalist of Deeds of Flesh confided that he would be unable to attend a Brazilian tour scheduled for November '98. Derek was offered the position but took it only on a temporary basis. Upon completion of the Brazilian tour Derek returned to Deprecated.Deprecated is composing songs for their full-length album entitled 'Engulfing Delusions' to be released by UNIQUE LEADER ENTERTAINMENT . Expect much HEAVIER and TWISTED CHAOTIC HARMONY in their upcoming release.Deprecated's debut L.P. entitled 'ENGULFING DELUSIONS' is being produced this summer and will be released fall 2000Tours will begin shortly after the release of 'ENGULFING DELUSIONS'Original member and song writer Adam Hearst (guitars) has returned to perform on the album along with aspiring young SHREDDER- John Chavez (DMK) Deprecated's MCD 'DERIDING HIS CREATION' has sold 1900 copies world-wide.
