Artist description
This band was conceived by Rob Fraser. He did everything on the CD except the drums, which were done by Gary Meyers. Rob also produced the CD of original songs at Honolulu's Paradise Studio. Rob has been writing songs since 1975. Before using a computer to record he used a 4-track, and before that , a boombox. The music on this CD represent Rob's roots in 60s and 70s styles. The songs started out as lyrics that had rythmn and rhyme and told a story of my life experiences. I then added late 60s underground style rythmn guitar. I then layed down a rough midi drum track. After that I recorded the rythmn and then the vocals.I then recorded the lead, then the bass. I then had drummer Gary Meyers lay down the drum track. Then I went back and rerecored most of the other parts except the lead to fit around the vocals. After starting with the lyric I tried to build a feeling or idea around the lyrical content. The music is 60s - 70s hard rock. |

Artist History
The band, Cosmic Horse, started when Rob Fraser began writing songs at the end of 1998 after moving to Honolulu from Berkeley California. A year later Gary Meyers joined the band to lay down the drum tracks after a rough mix was in place.Rob met Gary at a open mic night in a Honolulu club ( Gussie L'amour's). Rob presently plays at a open mic night at the Bedroq in Honolulu. Part of the inspiration for the Cosmic Horse sound is the classic rock scene in Honolulu. Gary has the classic rock drum style. The number of classic rock clubs is decreasing. Yet many of today's "contemporary" bands have adopted the style and attitudes of that era. |
