Artist description Castel was a very short-lived band that evolved from Black Ice during my last days as a college student at Virginia Tech in the summer of '92. Heavy rock guitar meets groove bass/drums with pop vocals.

Artist History A short studio project in the summer of 1992, during our last days at Virginia Tech. This band never played out live as listed! We had been working as a band with two guitarists and a different singer, but when we decided to record the material, one guitarist had gone home for the summer, and we wanted to have Jason sing on the recording.The songs were recorded in our house in Blacksburg, Virginia. The equipment at the time included a Tascam TSR-8, Tascam M-312B mixing board, an Alesis Quadraverb, Fostex RM-865 monitors, and various mics and compressors. We recorded the tunes in a weekend when Jason was en route from Tidewater, Virginia to his new University gig in Missouri. It was eventually mixed down to a Metal (Type IV) cassette tape. The original 8-track recording and the TRS-8 are long gone. The final mix on cassette is all that's left. I took the cassette almost SEVEN YEARS LATER!!!! and recorded it into my Digital Audio Workstation (them's fancy words for a suped-up computer with digital audio I/O), and made these .mp3s.-Oliver-
