Artist description
Beto Di Franco (pictured left on the photo above) is a complete artist that accomplishes several styles with ease and authority. In live situations his power and passion is much more noticeable. Beto can sing very well, write beautiful songs, and on top of it he can play 6 and 7-string classical guitar, banjo and "viola caipira", like a pure virtuoso. In Parallel, Beto works as a arranger and producer on Americana city music scene and its adjacencies. |

Artist History
Beto's 1st contact with music came across his father, a musician on his own. By his early twenties Beto lived on Brazil's Northeast (in Aracaju/Sergipe) where he found his 1st inspirations to write his own material. His partnership with Mingo Santana started in this period. They wrote a lot of good stuff like 'Gloria Fortaleza', 'Sementeira' and 'Cidade Adormecida'. After 3 years Beto returned to his hometown of Santa Barbara do Oeste, in Sao Paulo state and continued the struggle for recognition. He won a lot of festivals since then, and has recorded many appearances in other's albuns as a guest. In 96 He and Laercio Ilhabela recorded 'Choro Flamenco', a mix between Brazil's choro and Spain's flamenco, as the title says. In 97 he joined a experimental music project named 'ARTE DO ACASO' that recorded a great album, reminiscent to brazilian best bands of 70's like 'Mutantes' and 'Secos e Molhados'. In 99 He joined Americana's symphonic orchestra to record 'Caipira Caboclo', a bunch of "viola caipira" tunes given a classical treatment. Year 2000 will see the arrival of Beto's 1st solo effort. Full of great music, we all hope! |
