Artist History
Hailing from Southeast MA and Northern RI, 85 Cent Arrest is basically what stemmed from an unsuccessful band called "Willy B. And The Superpredators." In a nutshell, Willy B was Dan on vocals, Steve on bass, Pete on guitar, TR on drums, Justin on guitar, and Scott was an unofficial vocalist. But, like most bands, it was a shitty cover band that didn't go anywhere. Pete left in May of 99, Dan unofficially left in June of 99. Steve, TR, and Justin basically tried to revive it, but broke up in and around September of 99. Justin went on to join the metal band "One Night Stand", TR went on to join another band (I don't know the name...), Steve, Pete, Dan, and Scott formed 85 Cent Arrest in August of 99. Basically, the name was derived from an incident in Boston where we got into some trouble with cops / security guards in Quincy Center T Station for hopping the rail to get in for free (we were low on money). They called for backup, but nothing really happened. Regardless, now we play alot of political stuff, along with alot of non-political stuff. As a band, we don't have any real affiliation, and our musical interests are all different in some way or another. |
