Artist History Born and raised in Concord, MA, USA, and began playing piano almost immediately. High School church organist, then lived in Zen and Tibetan Buddhist meditation centers. Completed Ph.D. in education at U.C. Berkeley and taught college for five years, but felt the music beckoning, so left academia in 1990 and have been concertizing ever since, traveling with my life companion, Madeleine, a visionary artist from Switzerland.
