Artist History
To say that Puppet is an “energetic” entertainer would be an understatement. For as many listeners of reggae music know, in order to catch the true essence of an artist of this genre one must be present for a live performance. Although this holds true for Puppet, his ability to capture the ears of audiences is not limited to the stage. Not only is Puppet a crowd-pleaser at a live stage show, but his music, coupled with captivating beats and untouchable lyrics allows him to lure audiences without being physically present.Compared to the likes of well-known dance hall reggae artists such as Beenie Man and Bounty Killa Puppet has established a reputation for his “high energy” presence and has gained a national following in the process. His musical influences stem from the legendary artists Shabba Ranks, Michael Jackson, and of course Bob Marley. At an early age Puppet realized his musical talents in his birthplace of Kingston, Jamaica. It wasn’t until he left Jamaica soon after to reside in Toronto, Canada that Puppet began to take his gift seriously and has since honed his skills as a solid M.C. His artistic ability has not gone unrecognized, for Puppet’s charisma has enabled him to share the stage with artists such as Mad Lion, Busta Rhymes, KRS ONE, RedMan, Bounty Killa, Doug E. Fresh, Mobb Deep, Faith Evans and Canadian hip-hop artists Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates, Choclair and Marvel, just to name a few.It was these accomplishments that led to Puppet signing with Detroit-based, Outlaw Productions, who have continued to assist him in his development as a reggae-hip-hop artist.Constantly cultivating his skills to increase his stature in the music industry, Puppet has taken the necessary steps to ensure a strong foundation for the future of his career by launching his own record label, ‘Merge Entertainment’.With the upcoming release of his first single, “All My Girls” and “Screwface”, from his debut album Island Chocolate, Puppet’s primary objective is to leave a distinct mark on the international reggae scene. Meeting, and hoping to one day exceed the standards previously set by legendary acts in the reggae music industry, Puppet is bound to succeed.Having made his mark, the best is yet to come for Puppet...with no strings attached.Check out puppet site www.mp3.com/skilachi and www.blackmoonent.com Email outlawproduction@hotmail.com and merge_ent@hotmail.com |
