Artist History North40 had its humble beginning in March of1999 when Keyboardist/Songwriter David Sayersolicited the help of long-time friend and churchbuddy, Singer/Bass Player, Mike Powell to start aband with the vision not only to have fun playingmusic but to also develop true friendships withconcert goers and club patrons. "I desire for us tobe accessible to the real world", says Sayer. "Iwant to have an excellent show and reallytop-notch music, but I also want to leave peoplewith the fact they just made a new friend ~ severalnew friends in North40." With a strongcommitment to Christian and family values,David, Mike and Mike's wife, Utility Keyboardist,Dawn Powell began singing and playing togetheras they sought other musicians with similarinterests and goals. In April, Davy Patten Joined North40 as the Acoustic and Rhythm guitarplayer. Davy brings a level of stability andmaturity to the band and is an accomplishedmusician. In August, North40 was honored to bejoined by Josh Vannice. With his excellentmusicianship on the drums and his easygoingnature, Josh dug right in and gave North40 thesolid beat it needed for the extremely challengingmusic the band decided to tackle. North40 isprivilaged to welcome Gil Pettegrew ~ NEW LeadGuitarist for the band. Gil's personality is a greatasset to the band and his playing ability is second to none!

We have adaughter who is deaf, and yet God has given us thegrace to truly enjoy and have fun with the liveswe've been given. With over 6 billion people in theworld, I ask myself, "what difference can my onelittle life make?" Ask me.. I have some thoughts onthat. Some of my only serious thoughts have to dowith thinking about eternity. What are yourthoughts?
