Artist description
Female fronted alternative band with sounds ranging from The Cure and Smashing Pumpkins to Stavesacre and Pearl Jam. "Depulah Raza functions as a rather eklektic band. Sounds that differ from song concept to song concept. Not to be mistaken for Emo or Progressive Hardcore, the band's familiar tones can be heard in other bands ranging from The Cure to the Pink Daffodils. It is hard to catagorize but is strung together with an over-all lost, como-state feeling. Thus, the name "Depulah Raza." The vocals, mostly hand in hand with many effects, compliment which ever concept is at work. Differing from soft and femanine, to hard and coarse. The vocals create a passionate and intimate relationship to the words." -Kellie Palmblad |

Artist History
This band was relatively short lived. We began in late '98 and played in various clubs in Colorado Springs and Denver. We believe we had an interestingly unique sound that caught the attention of many people that had the opportunity to see us perform live. We had a diverse style with some soft songs with the chance to add a lot of pretty guitar riffs, and others more on the heavy side. It's a shame we couldn't record all of our songs. The band broke up about a year later. The new band, Eyes Caught Fire, started up in early 2002. Members include Kellie, Dustin, Joel and Noah. Press Reviews
"hey ...I noticed you were on the same station
(one blaque man), and I was doing a play on it
today - going through the list - and I wanted to
let you know your song 'another forever' is one
of the best alternative songs on mp3.com.
incredible quality and feel! excellent work"

"This song (A Documentary) takes some really unexpected turns, dissonant guitars,
psychedelic effects, powerful narrative vocals (female fronted) with a dark
intense atmosphere that leaves you gasping for breath, I'm so glad I
discovered this artist, it's probably the most original stuff I've heard
in a long time." ...Sean (Donate A Dollar) |
