Artist description My Computer and I, with guitars and synths. My computer is somewhat like a very talented multi-instrumentalist capable of passages of blazing speed and interludes of emotional beauty (I sure hope so anyway). I have written down music that I have created over the past 20+ years and it performs with passion! At least my goal is to have it sound that way. I think, with the advances in music software over the years, that computers now can perform music that shows the feelings and emotions and vision of the composer. COMPUTER MUSIC CAN ROCK! But also, computer music can soothe and inspire and stir the imagination! Yes, a computer can never replace the work of a gifted musician, but it can be another way to make wonderful music! I also have some 4-track tunes that I created mostly with synths and some guitar. Some of the musical themes in these tracks have also been used in my computer music. I enjoy relating tracks in this way.

Music Style Electronic/Progressive with abundant melodic ideas. I feel that melody is the major factor in enjoyable music, so I often try to keep a flow of melodic ideas running through my music, with the intent of creating little musical journeys (yes, I consider even 20 minute pieces to be only small sonic journeys).

Musical Influences Yes,Keith Emerson,Iona,W.Carlos,Beethoven and other Romantic composers.

Similar Artists Yes (perhaps similar to their instrumental passages); my "electronic" music sounds quite a bit different than my "progressive" music.

Artist History I bought some music software in November '99 and have had my computer music here at MP3.com since May 2000. I also have written and recorded guitar and synth tracks since the late '70's.

Group Members I am a solo artist, though I have a few words to say about this. I didn't invent the scales and chords that I use. I didn't make the instruments that I play. I didn't create my computer or the software that I use (thank you Peter Gannon and crew). This is to say that no musician is really independent and on their own. We all use the work of others in our art. We all have musical influences that have come down the years from the times when music was first being created in human history. I feel that all music is a community effort. I feel blessed that I am a small part of this long line of musical history. Oh, yeah!

Instruments Many tracks are written on and performed by a computer. On some tracks I play guitar, bass and keyboards and these are also sources for my musical ideas which I compose on my computer.
