Artist description
Starting out in early 97,Vinny Gore, vox\ guitarist, Cade Stewart, drums, Mike Ash, bass, and Guitarist Andrew Hudyma, have come full circle. The release of "airs and graces" in November of 1998, brought the band numerous opportunities, such as opening slots for the likes of Samiam, No Means No, and The Weakerthans, substantial Canadian college and university radio play, and a chance to contribute music for the Canadian Hockey Documentary "Chasing The Dream". But more importantly it brought the interest of some Independent record companies within Canada. In June of 1999, the band signed on with the relatively new label, Triple Threat Records of Calgary Alberta Canada, and immediately went into Drozda Studios and began recording their follow up to "airs and graces". The new six song CD EP entitled "This Apparatus must be earthed", will be released in mid August on Triple Threat, and Canada wide distribution will be handled by Halifax’s famed Sonic Unyon Records. "Writing the best possible record you can is what should matter most to you" states Vinny Gore, the bands guitarist\vox and main songwriter. The new CD displays the raw emotional melodic rock that built in shellbrook are known for, and showcases the band’s best material yet."We have just now begun to find our sound that we feel most comfortable with," says Andrew Hudyma. "When you have a label backing you, you instantly gain the confidence that you really need to have" "You need to have financial and mental support to really accomplish the things that you need to do to be able to put out good records" says Mike Ash. |
