Artist History
The Skankin' Dead started out as an idea between friends Adam Johnson, Dave Bisson, and Dave Omer. The only problem was that Adam and Bisson couldn't play any instruments worth a lick. So Adam learned how to play his brother's guitar, and Bisson took drum lessons. They needed a bass player, so Adam's eventual brother in law, Dave Thomas, who played guitar, bought his brother's bass and learned how to play it. They asked their friend Steve Wilson to play keyboards, and the band was complete with five talented musicians. The band got together and practiced every once in a while and actually got second place in a battle of the bands (the audience was stacked in favor of the first place band.) Unfortunately, most of the members were very busy, so the band never really lived up to its potential. Currently, three of the members are serving LDS missions, so there isn't much activity going on with the band. However, Dave Thomas and Adam Johnson did manage to record three songs on Dave's computer before Adam left on his mission. They were recorded more so they wouldn't forget them than for anything else. The songs turned out very well, especially for a couple of amatuers playing around on a computer. We just thought it would be fun to put these songs on the web. |
