    Artist History
The music of Prewar Yardsale, the husband and wife team of Mike Rechner and Dina Levy, consists of the Indie-Anti-Artnoise melodies that they create at home in their NYC apt.(which they live in with their 2 cats, Tom and Martina). Mike has been writing music and playing his blown-out fuzzbox rigged acoustic guitar for years, while Dina has been playing percussion on her tin cans, buckets, and homemade drums for a whole 7 months, which is when Dina and Mike started Prewar Yardsale. As stated in AntiMatters, (NYC's anti-folk zine), "Prewar Yardsales NYC Subway car Indie-Rock 2 chord Rumble" takes on art, pop culture, the NYC transit system, and use their repetitive, yet cryptic and melodic tunes to turn it all into the relentless, limitless, grooving sounds that make your head spin.

"Prewar Yardsale carry on a monumental NYC folk-punk-poet-noise legacy, passed down from Allen Ginsberg ranting on an A train on speed at three in the morning to the Fugs to the Godz to Lou Reed to the Ramones to Sonic Youth and into the future"-Jeff Lewis, AntiMatters"
