Press Reviews
Brazil's fans - some of whom would appear to be the drunkest people on the planet - are endeavouring to make some kind of noise, however unintelligible. And you can see why they are so enthusiastic, as Brazil provide the sort of devillishly thrilling guitar noise that makes small children go pogo-crazy. In pub-talk parlance, Brazil have developed a neat commercial sound with a mildly peeved edge, bolstered by songs about girlfriends and death and a fantastically entertaining drummer, and a fanbase which insists on heckling them with shouts of "Winky wanky monkey!!". Brazil's well-judged blend of powerful melodies and neo-glam hooklines could still, even in this winter of disco and intense pop terror, find favour in some major label refuge. And no, we don't care how nuts we sound. Simon Williams (Fierce Panda, www.music365.com)"Doncaster POP!stars Brazil are a curious oddity. They have tunes and melodies so bright, clean and addictive they could give amphetimine sulphate a run for it's money. They won't make you lose your erection neither. Brazil are a band who know lust, and rejection and full on punk rock love. Everything a band needs I reckon. What else is important? Imagine, if you will Brian Willson with Lemonheads chugga chugga guitars and Candyskins la la la rama punk POP! energy. A band to write home about. A band to make you feel happ-ee in this dull grey Northern industrial slush pit we inhabit. They have ambition, they have flair. They're even better live. Tell your mum about them today."
