Artist History
The Augusta Shallows is the first chapter of a series of albums chronicling my songwriting and recording projects as they become completed. The music is free to anyone who shows the least bit of interest. This project was put together in the summer of 2000 in my home studio with all of recording, engineering and performances done by myself. I would be writing and recording regardless of the opportunity to have others listen, therefore I see no sense in charging folks for something that should always be free especially in this day and age of advanced technology. There are 28 songs in the whole collection. If I were to put out a CD it would be far too costly for me to reproduce in any neat and pretty fashion. (Besides that money could be used for more important things like more instruments and such)
The songs themselves stem from a series of pictures and letters that were found after the death of my great-grandmother. The songs reflect her personalities and the stories she told that I thank her for everyday. Her husband, my great grandfather passed before I could ever really know him. I only have memories second hand and some genes for a musical ear and a love of great music. I see them every once in a while walking around putting my fingers to the page and on the strings of my guitar.
