THE MURDER DISCO EXPERIENCE started in 1993 using the name TIME TO SUFFER POWER with the line-up Alex - guitar, Martin - drums, Peter (a former member of the grindcore band BELCHING BEET) - bass & vocals, Ralf -vocals. This line-up recorded a split 7" with DEREK'S DON'T RUN (whose singer and guitar-player later formed ACCION MUTANTE), which featured the songs 500 YEARS, D.I.Y. and WHEEL and was released in 1993 by the bands themselves. Soon after the recordings TIME TO SUFFER POWER added a second guitarplayer, Andi. This line-up recorded the song ANIMALS which was released by PLOT FANZINE on the compilation that came with Plot #0 in 1994. Some of the other bands on that compilation were CWILL, AMBUSH, GOLGATHA, ZORN, ACME, SYSTRAL, LUZIFERS MOB, STACK, WOUNDED KNEE, MINE, DAWNBREED. After the Release of that compilation Martin left the band, since he was more interested in motorcyle biking and fucking his cousin (no kidding) than he was in the band. (We received a funny email concerning the last sentence...). He was quickly replaced by Schmier who had just left ACCION MUTANTE after recording their "fear" 7" for SKULD RELEASES. While we were rehearsing the songs with Schmier, which meant repeating the old stuff over and over again Andi got bored with the band and our lack of equipment and decided to quit the band in 1995... So we were a 4-piece again and kept on gigging, but due to Alex's lack of songwriting abilities we went through entire 1995 without adding a single song to our set. When in 1996 Alex started to skip more and more rehearsals, sometimes hiding from us in his flat, pretending not to be at home, we decided to kick him out of the band... which left us without guitar player AND practice room, 'cos the room did belong to him. This situation lead to a 9 month hiatus in the existence of the band. During that time Schmier joined the local Street Punk band THE BITCH BOYS, who rehearsed with two other bands in a shelter that was so moist that new eqiupment started to rust as soon as you did put it in there. While hanging out in a pub in late 1996, we met a young punk called Pumuckl who used to work as a stagehand for gigs Ralf was putting up. He talked about wanting to play drums in a band but we talked him into playing guitar for us... So two weeks later we met in said shelter and played with Pumuckl for the first time. He got a tape with live tracks and the recording sessions the week before and was able to play all our songs at once nearly as good as our former guitarists. So we moved in that shelter, Pumuckl surprised us by buying a used marshall stack and we started to rehearse new songs, kicking almost half of our material from the list and speeding up the remaining few. So this was the that recorded the 12 track demo we talk about on the sound page: Peter - bass, vocals Pumuckl - guitar Schmier - drums Ralf - vocals Schmier quit the band march 2000. So we are currentyly searching a new drummer!
