Artist History
Ive been in several bands = so many I dont remeber all the names
after the fisrt year of playing guitar I was walking around the neibor hood when i heard
live guitar playing i folowed the sound to an apartment duplex and on the 2nd floor the winow was open and i yelled up hey
i play to are you in a band? and he = Eddie wilcut said no , he invited me up and had a big amp = koustome and a yamaha electric guitar
we had several get togethers then he introduced me to a drummer = Tony dialoso he new and we all started getting together then Tony introduced us to
a bass player = Brian ? = forget last name then we started playin out = churches, schools, skateing rinks - etc = we were under 21.
then after high school I went into the army then I got out in 1986 and on my first day home from the army Tony = drummer called my parents house = where I was living
and was absolutely goin nuts cause I answered = he was just callin to find out how to get ahold of me in the army
he said he met new guitar player = Tom jackson that made real good money and was wanting to play lead guitar in a bad that he financed = equipment--etc
and wanted me and him to be apart of that band .
I jumped at the chance , Tom introduced us to a bass player = Mark Reece and we strated a band called axetion .
Tom got some real good Main sound equipment lights and fog and we played at most of the night clubs=bars in kcmo.
It all went well till I started havein too much fun = women alcohal - etc after 5 years of hard work they kicked me out
and after 1 week without a singer = me axetion was no longer.
I started meeting and playing with all kinds of musicians around the kcmo aeria then and hooked up with a really awsome drummer that had a recording studio.
I hooked back up with Tony , Mark and a lead guitar player Tony knew and made my first pro quality recordings of my own songs.
the drummer that owned the studio was awsome but didnt know my songs well enuogh to do the recordings = alot of work/time=13 songs
so tony knew um by heart and done the drums I in turn for recording studio use sang and played guitar for him on his songs = 10 songs
after the recording we all split up and I went to colledge. i met a guitar in colledge that played the same stuff i do = John Groves so we hooked up and he ended up playin bass I got a hold of Tony and I played guitar and sang
we started recording and playin some of the best well known bars in kcmo playin our own music = all original = the pay was lousey but the recognition was excellent.
then 1 night Tonys right bass pedal went out = left right bass drums in the begining of a song and I thought we would finish the song and go for a break since he still had left bass pedal.
I didnt think it was a big deal but after the gig he went bullistic and the band broke up.
mean while i got married and my wife had a baby = Emily then i found drummer = jim spidel and we hooked up with bass player = John Groves and started a band called culprit we played at some bars then jims work schedule conflicted so
me and John were going to other drummers to keep in practice then some of my equipment got stolen because i was very tired and left the equipment in the station wagon covered up.
some one broke the glass and got my guitar bass and mic = it was a bummer.
i eventualy got new equipment and started playin again with jim = drummer .
me and Jim had a hard time keeping a bass player = ever time we got good enough to play out regularly the bass player would quit
so we kept on trainin bass players for 3 years .
Jims house caught on fire so I let him and his family live down stairs in my house
= not bad = finished basement so we then could practice any time we wanted = I had my own studio = doubel car grage with doors sealed off and 2 foot thick walls with insulaion / mylar plastic and carpeting over inside of walls = seperate from house
studio was over 100 feet from back of house and very well insulated = carpet on floors walls and ceiling = at full blast band sound was only 30 db = flat response with hand held db meter at 30 foot from studio = we talk at 70 to 80 db at 2 foot away = meter flat response
my neibor was being an a hole and would call the cops on us for noise disturbance even if we werent playing = band meeting = several times the equipment wasnt even turned on with no sound played yet and the police would knock on the studio door and tell us to turn it down.
I even told them to check = feel the back of the amps = they are cold and tube amps get very warm after you turn them on = it didnt matter if the neibor couldnt hear us all that mattered was he knew we played rock and didnt want us playing. this went on for 2 years till I had to go to court
over noise disturbance = fact the first time the police were called on us for noise disturbance we were playing and the police couldnt figure out what house was being the disturbance. when we took a break I was walking out side smokeing a cigerette when i seen a police car stop and ask me where
406 vassar was = my house I said thats my house and he said he had been going up and down the street for twenty minutes and didnt hear anything but the neibor was complaining so i showed him the studio in back and he said i didnt hear anything but could you please turn down so youre neibor doesnt.
evertime a new police man would show up they had problems locateing the studio = couldnt hear us.
when we went to court I got lawer and he said the noise disturbance laws for Sugar Creek Missouri were not justifiabel = it states that any noise coming from a house from 6 pm till 8 am can be considered a noise disturbance = anything = B S.
with that kind of a noise disturbance law my neibor became a headache to me and the police but it is the law
so at court it was descided that any time i was to play i had to check with neibor to see if it was tooo loud for him and he was to call me if it was too loud and if the police were called i would have to turn equipment off for the week and if more then 3 police calls were made i would have to stop playing there.
also it was understood = behind doors that my neibor was being a nuscience to me and if called that would be considered.
1/2 year latter neibor died of a stroke and we didnt have any more calls. but then i lost my job and i lost my house and studio.
so now i just make recordings with other people over the internet or by my self = just for fun . |
