    Artist History
Metha Mean was formed by Stef Caron and Jamison Cant in 1996 from the remains of Winnipeg's industrial pop-noise group Heads or Tales. Caron relocated to Montreal that year, alone, and enlisted Marc Bertola, from Dogwalker, to replace the absent Jamison Cant. The two piece version of Metha Mean played a handful of shows before recruiting Angry White Mob bassist Raf, and the three were together until mid-1999 when Bertola left to concentrate on Dogwalker; Jamison Cant relocated Montreal by then, just in time to record the Mean's first album, Open. Raf left Metha Mean after the completion of Open, and was replaced by Jett Monette for several shows in the summer of 2000. Metha Mean is now comprised of Cant and Caron, along with bassist/keyboardist Peter Marsh, of Koin, and for live shows, drummer Simon Lang. They are currently recording "Unloved", an album which has turned towards their less industrial influences: Massive Attack, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, Ekova, Virginia Rodriguez. It is due out sometime in late 2002.
