Artist description
Lipstick is a one man band.....
the idea and the music was always there but was never really meant for the public to hear.....it was just my form of ecstasy, my marijuana, my heroine....my escape....
from the confusion around me......relationships, drugs, love, the little things...it's all reflected in my music.....i never felt like my ideas, my emotiions, or my personality were coming across.....when you're in a band you're in a BAND....and one person represents everyone...that's what binds you together......Lipstick is all me.....not in an egotistical manner....it goes much more deeper than that.....it's like meeting someone......if you're with a group of friends and the girl of your dreams comes your way.....she' s about to talk to you when she's here's you're "friends" say something you wouldn't normally have said .......you 'll in some way be associated with it...this puts up an obstacle which makes the real you harder to meet...you see where i'm heading.....if you're buy yourself she comes in contact with you and only you....you are representing yourself....if she finds out she 's not interested in you it's no one elses fault but your's......"in the end all you have is your self"....
Jaycee Salinas is a 21 year old kid who has been playing with music since he was 15, understanding it at the age of 16 and writing some at age 17……for his 15th birthday his brother gave him a guitar and ever since he has never seen or touched anything with as much love and curiosity….
Lipstick is greatly underlined by the idea of “in the end all you have is yourself, so be true to yourself.” After playing with many bands, Jaycee felt his personality, emotions, views and ideas were being shoved aside and locked up. In order to ease the tension, he began writing and recording his own music under the name Lipstick. Since this happened to be a solo-side project which was never really meant for the public, performing and the feel of jamming with a “band” was what kept Jaycee on the look out for bands who needed a guitarist, drummer, etc. Things took a turn after an incident made Jaycee realize the need for him to concentrate fully on his music.
