Artist description
Beauty is in all the flaws, bad hair, soft shape, and always saying stupid things." -T. Ackerman ~You wouldn't ordinarily begin an artist's bio with a quote from author T. Ackerman, but then again, the Ideal Flaw isn't your ordinary rock band. Based in Austin, the Ideal Flaw is music with a message. Equally influenced by philosopher/authors such as CS Lewis and groups like Bjork, U2 and Nine Inch Nails, the Ideal Flaw is the sound of the information age tuning out. The Ideal Flaw is man devolving to its primal roots, without leaving the laptops behind. "I find banjo's and mandolins infinitely more evocative than any synthesizer, but I cannot escape the fact that I grew up with computers. This is all a part of who I am." says singer/songwriter Aaron Evans. If you enjoy Bjork, NIN, the Cure, Depeche Mode, or Dead Can Dance; you will find the Ideal Flaw to be a refreshing addition to your musical palate. |

Artist History
Beginning in 1996, Evans had difficulty finding a "permanent" band, opting instead to play most of the instruments himself. "The isolation of growing up in the country meant that I developed primarily as a solo artist out of necessity" says Evans. Going from the basic isolation of North Texas to the college life of Austin proved to be epiphany for Evans. After hearing his music played on the college radio for the first time, Evans knew what he wanted from his life. Austin slowly saw the Ideal Flaw grow from one man's naïve ambition into a vital musical act with breathtaking arrangements and profound lyrical maturity. |

Press Reviews
Dark, ethereal compositions blur the line between Synth Pop and Trip-Hop, surrounding an intimate, introspective vocal style with an almost oppressive degree of post-production instrumental processing. - Doug R. www.listen.comSince I always enjoy music that is very different and not a sell out to the dollar this is a favourite. Continue working on this genre (a bit trance/alternative) and you will be doing what you are good at. Lots of complexity here that does always finds a "special" market of listeners.---Dennis Cambly, Managing Editor of "Times 10 Magazine" |
