Press Reviews
Exploring their own type of rock, Elemae are an amazing upcoming band from New Jersey that considering how accomplished their first full length ‘A Life To Be Defined’ is you’d think they’d be as well known as emo rock classics like Sensefield and Texas Is The Reason. The fact that there are definite similarities to these bands is just a step towards to gaining some idea of what Elemae are all about. There is no doubt they have an original sound as the thing that makes them special is their ability to write music that covers a diverse amount of styles but doesn’t stray from memorable rocking songs.
They kick things off with ‘Odema’ one of the highlights and a perfect example of the bands more drawn out powerful moments that would sit nicely alongside the sort of thing New End Original have been penning recently. Then there’s the other side to Elemae which is a blend of more up beat emo rock and indie displayed on perhaps the best track ‘Science Kit’ which is one of those songs you know is a gem with driving versus and an addictive chorus.
Craig Cirinelli’s versatile vocal style confidently lends itself well to the bands tendency to boldly experiment with a constant mix of melodic song structures with indie to rock based guitars and drumming always backed with a distinctive bass and keyboard mix. Elemae are definitely one of those bands that make you sit up and listen. The record oozes with confidence and there is an all round professionalism to their sound which has been captured well with clean, upfront production. Elemae have set themselves up for good things here with a belter of an album as their introduction and the word is they’ve got even more where that came from.

Elemae's music which can be heard on the bands debut 4-song CD-EP blends a variety of influences, from aggressive drumming and basslines to romantic almost ballad-like melodies and big, sweeping guitar sounds. -From Jim Testa/Jersey Beat magazine*****BB |
