Artist History
So I’m sitting here trying to imagine what our would-be publicist would compose for our Bio. She might go on about our beginnings as an 8-piece funk/horn ensemble, and how we were dissatisfied with the creative process of a large band. Or maybe about how trying to please 8 people in a band can sometimes lead to pleasing no one in an audience. Clever music only maintains it’s appeal until the disc stops, and cleverness isn’t exactly something you can hum afterward. In the year 2000 Columbus, Ohio saw the energetic creation of Chuck’s Junk, and 2003 saw the inevitable disentegration of Chuck’s Junk. The band let 5 musicians go off to be musicians, and the other 3 went on to create music together... The remaining 3 asked each other what we would like to hear in our own music, and the unanimous response was simply "passion". Passion for what we play, passion for what we sing about, passion for the expressiveness of music everywhere, passion for being genuine....and the list goes on. So with a sound that rings of influences such as The Roots, Living Colour, D’Angelo, Peter Gabriel, and even U2, we take a certain pride in the fact that when you put our disc in your CD player we can guarantee you’ve never heard this music before. We know we haven’t created a revolutionary new genre....(hell, we’ve barely created a worthwhile bio) but we’re sure that the music we make can stand on it’s own and deserves to be heard. We’re just 2 brothers, and 2 friends with some serious ambition to make music that people can feel with us. We invite you to just listen.... Chuck’s Junk
